 A relatively new concept in algae control will deal with problematic blanket weed in garden ponds.
This ultrasonic device is guaranteed to kill off all blanket weed, and algae that cause green water, and maintain clear water all year round. The Device works by producing high frequency ultrasonic sound waves - Totally harmless to fish, mammals and inverterbrates- The sound waves disrupt the cell structure in floating and filamentous algae. Blanket weed (filamentous algae) is killed in about two weeks and is easily removed from the pond as it floats on the surface.
Continued use will guarantee blanket weed will not return to your pond.
The device comprises of two parts. The control box and the emitter. The emitter produces sound wave to cover an arc of 180° from the front of the unit. Sound waves don't go round corners very well so the emitter should be placed to give the best coverage of as much of the pond as possible. The emitter is placed in the water and the control box in a suitable dry location.
The coverage of the emitter is best described in the diagrams. In some cases it may be necessary to move the emitter to a different location in the pond as necessary.
