PH and KH
Fluctuating PH in a pond will be detrimental to the health of Koi Carp. The PH in soft water areas can fluctuate and drop below the requirements of you koi and pond filter. The use of buffers can stabilize the PH making the enviroment more suitable for the Koi and other fish. |

Kusuri Biobalance
"Natural non chemical buffer" is a fine powdered product that will improve alkalinity in pond / tank water providing a natural stabilizing effect on the pH of water.
Biobalance is ideal for use in low alkaline soft water conditions (extremely low levels of hardness are also know to be detrimental to the osmosis & regulatory system of fish).
Recommended dose rate:
As a KH regulator 25 grams per 1000 gallons of water per day until desired KH is reached.
Repeat whenever required.
As a pH buffer 25 grams per 1000 gallons of water per day for one week and continue at the same rate very other day until pH is stable. Repeat as and when required.
Biobalance will cloud water for a few hours on application.

Bacta-Pur Lithaqua
Lithaqua is a marine mineral high in trace elements and carbonates, ideal for raising KH values. A superb filter media of porous construction, allowing a huge surface area for the growth of beneficial bacteria.
Modern filter chambers contain many and varied plastic media, these provide good support - but Lithaqua goes one stage further. Not only do the beneficial bacteria draw on nutrients from the mineral support, the media has a massive surface area up to 20 times greater than most plastic media.
Lithaqua is a biological media not intended for mechanical stages.
Use Lithaqua in a clean water chamber after mechanical removal of waste. Lithaqua is far more efficient than crushed oyster shells, and the high level of carbonates will improve carbonate alkalinity in soft water regions, neutralising low acid pH and buffer swings in pH. |
